Ebony Wood Polka Dot Striped Batik Bone Bead Silver Taureg African Pendant Black Brown White Mens Unisex Necklace, The Barker
The Barker ebony wood batik bone Tuareg cross African pendant necklace
I loved TV shows of the 90's! I grew up watching Martin, New York Undercover, A Different World, to name a a few. There were so many styles and flavors back then, each so unique, colorful and textural. One show in particular stood out to me, when it came to the designs of men's jewelry. Kyle Barker, the protagonist to Maxine Shaw in the hit TV Show, Livin' Single. Kyle Barker's style was in a class of it's and this man's confidence show it! Wearing Armani suits with kente mudcloth fabric to prerfectly twisted locs, he gave new meaning to the look "corporate". It was the first time I ever saw a man wear a suit with afrocentric jewelry. It was an interesting but stylish look. So......when I thought about creating the first few entries for my men's collection, I knew the Kyle's character of style needed to be reflected.
The Barker necklace, aptly named, is a modernly masculine piece that's an eye catcher. Polished, smooth and warm to the touch ebony wood is highlighted with polka dot batik bone discs and vintage handmade striped thick batik bone rondelles. The pendant, an African Tuareg silver brass pendant, is the true anchor of this necklace. An amulet of protection, this pendant definitely symbolizes protection, strength and guidance. This piece is finished off with with a polished hook and eye clasp to ensure wearability over your styles.
